McDonald’s happy meals getting healthier, but is it enough?

McDonald’s Happy Meals are going on a diet in what the fast food company describes as a way to help kids eat healthier.

The meals that are popular with children, but not so with nutritionists, are getting a 20 percent reduction in calories beginning next year.

The french fry portion will be smaller and apples and low-fat milk added to the meal.

The fast food company said it will also change its marketing message encouraging kids to eat well and exercise.

The Happy Meal makeover is part of a expansive effort by McDonald’s to make its food healthier.

By 2020, the fast food chain said it will reduce added sugars, saturated fat and calories by changing portion sizes and changing recipes.

    Americans are living longer today than ever before. On average, adults who reach 65 today can expect to live to 84, and many will eventually need some kind of daily living assistance from their children. The U.S. Department of Labor estimates 54 percent of Americans care in some way for their parents.

    Among the best strategies for caregivers to keep up with parents’ physical, social and emotional changes are frequent in-person visits and careful, compassionate listening.     Mustaches & Fun Times at the NPC LA Championships

    It looks like everyone from the judges, fans to the expeditors were having a great time over the weekend at the 2011 Los Angeles Championships.     A number of men who are competing this weekend at the NPC USA Championships provided a preview as did Will World Harris on how hes looking for this weekends IFBB Connecticut show. IFBB Pro Gina Aliotti joined Lonnie Teper at the mic and helped a few hard body women en route to victory as their trainer.
