Prescription drug event moved from Chavez Plaza
Because of the ongoing Occupy Sacramento rallies in Cesar Chavez Plaza, a Drug Enforcement Administration collection event for unused and expired prescription drugs originally planned to take place at the park today has been moved.
The new collection site is 1314 H St. in downtown Sacramento.
The Sacramento site is one of more than 5,000 locations across the country participating in National Drug Take-Back Day.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., people in the community can drop off their unused or expired prescription medications.
The Sacramento event is sponsored by the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists in partnership with the California National Guard.
